Nearly September

Yay! It’s soon September! Don’t you love the beginning of a new school year? I know, it’s a few weeks away but the preparations and the new stationery and the excitement! Even if you don’t have children to see through this period, it’s still the beginning of a ‘new year’. Time to revamp the wardrobe and have new things to wear to work now that we are all finally heading back to the office.

Betty & Co has a whole host of clothing that is patterned and plain so you can build a capsule based around your own style. The old rule of 3 colours and 7 items still applies. The 3 colours can be in addition to a neutral and of course black and white. The 7 items is the number of things you wear, not the number of things your own. So shoes, trousers, top, cardigan, jacket, jewellery are accounted for.

Big trends for the new season are dresses over trousers, cardigans and clashing patterns. All shades of red, green and grey are the ones to be seen in. This is a great look for adding warmth as the heat dissipates and giving you a funky, younger look for the office and those after-work drinks.

For men, it’s time to top up on classics and where better to head than to Fynch-Hatton. The cuts are classic and the colours primary – so you can’t go wrong. Take a leaf out of their book and try a new colour combination; rich green jumper can start the transition with navy or stone trousers and just by changing the top, you can have a look that changes as the season goes on! There’s a golden yellow for greyer days and a lovely deep red for closer to Christmas.

If you’re not ready to let go of summer just yet, give your swimwear a refresh with MC2 Saint Barth and end your summer with a splash! Boat charter is cost effective when you do it as a gang and at least now there’s less boats on the water so you can all really let loose!
