The Polo Ralph Lauren polo is a staple in many of our wardrobes. The iconic logo, the softness, the choice of colours; you can dress them up or down and wear them in so many ways. The fact they are no fuss to look after, easy to wash and easy to iron, means the women’s version can work as hard as the woman that wear them.
The jeans and t-shirt is of course the most basic way, and I have to say one of my favourite outfits is a white Lauren polo shirt with the collar flipped up, worn with my super high turn-up jeans and white leather sneakers. A skinny belt and a couple of bangles and I’m ready for coffee with the girls, running errands and the taxi service I offer on the side to my tribe….
In this heat of course I wear with shorts and roll up the sleeves and on a flat tummy day, I tie a knot in my t-shirt to show a bit of midriff.
The thing l like best about this brand’s polos, is that they are sexy. They are a skinny fit so don’t add any bulk and the button opening is slightly lower than the men’s and this allows for adding chunky necklaces or the trend for layered necklaces depending on your outfit and mood.
It also means they tuck in nicely to fitted clothes. I channel myinner Rizzo with a 50’s vibe look, pairing a polo and pencil skirt, wide belt andmules for work quite a lot, and a polo also looks great under a tailored suit and boiler suit.
