Warning - Hottest colour of the season announced!

Orange is all around us all the time; sunrise, marmalade on toast, flowers on the roundabouts on the way to work, traffic lights teasing me, neon stripes on the trainers of my boss, grated carrots in my lunchbox, sunset as I drive to meet friends, mango chutney with my curry, cocktails…

In nature it attracts and warns – it’s a colour that is paid attention to and now it’s on every catwalk, and every sidewalk. Orange is the colour of the season. It looks good with all colours and changes its tune with its tone. Worn with black and white it is sharp and futuristic, it livens up stone colours and makes them current. As a block, its straight off the catwalks and paired with pinks and reds is so chic!

The colour comes in so many shades so you can find the ones that work for you. Dark skins can wear all of them, and if you are more fair, perhaps a more coral tone would be best? If you have blue eyes, you can pretty much carry off any shade close to the skin and if you have green or hazel eyes – wear tangerine.

Paired with navy, pale blue or dark olive or khaki is a fresh take for men and for women, be bold! Wear head to toe (including lips and nails we say!)

Orange has been used in many marketing campaigns globally with the You’ve Been Tangoed as one that immediately springs to mind, have a look through the archives and you might recognise James Corden as a child actor…

If you’re still a bit wary, try an accessory, a scarf, belt, shoes and bag perhaps? Don’t miss out on looking on trend this season, don’t say we didn’t warn you!
