With garden centres and home improvement stores open, make the most of the free time and the chance to get away from a screen and plan some of those things on your to do list?

The weather is getting better by the weekend and the kids are off school, so pop on a polo shirt and some comfortable trousers and if you have a garden, why not do a bit of weeding or plant some flowers that will bloom later in the year? There are plenty of options too for courtyards and balconies – join the Green Patches group on Facebook and get some advice on what’s good for where. The joy planting brings to all ages is really something worth cultivating.

Maybe you don’t have green fingers, but have a piece of furniture that needs upcycling? Get the family involved, sanding, painting, stencilling, decoupaging? There are so may options! Even just changing the handles can breathe a breath of fresh air into a tired piece.

Of course, cooking is another way to while away hours; plan a meal that has lots of dishes so you can all get involved, or have a themed weekend so all your meals and entertainment are from that region? We’ve ‘virtually’ been to the Middle East and also Japan and we just spent a virtual weekend in Italy, with Italian food, a couple of Airbnb Experiences that taught us Hand Gestures and took us on a Treasure Hunt for an old family recipe. We watched Italian TV and sang along to Italian classics too.

If you are venturing out for real, even for a walk in the countryside, here’s some style tips.

Try the French tuck, for your t-shirt. Good for men and women…. It is simply the art of tucking in a shirt at the very front while leaving the back loose and untucked at the sides. If wearing a polo shirt, flip up the collar and roll the sleeves back once or twice. Roll up your trousers too and wear with pumps or trainers. Wear a tailored jacket over it if it is a bit chilly, especially if wearing one of our slogan tshirts.

Have a greet week!
